PAIN MANAGEMENT

“Death does not scare me; this unbearable pain does. I just pull my hair apart and wish I could die,”

Prevalence estimates for chronic pain range from 9-33%. Development of drug tolerance (and the need for escalating doses), hyperalgesia (increased pain sensitivity), and addiction are some of the risks that should be evaluated in patients with chronic pain. Our focus is mainly on the non-interventional remedies. This includes a thorough assessment, psychological treatments like CBT, acute pain management strategies and treating comorbid psychiatric entities. Non dermatomal pain syndromes management will include educating the patient and including physical therapies with occupational therapist/physiotherapist and yoga therapist.
